Stunning Scenery is Certainly a Highlight on our Best Guided Alpine Hiking Trips
In a place as vast and wild as Western Canada’s province of British Columbia, you can imagine that here you will find some stunning scenery and the best alpine hiking to be found anywhere in the region. At Yoho Adventures, we’re particularly interested in hiking remote wilderness for the reason that it allows us to get close to the clouds and high above forests and bushy scrubs that dominate much of the hiking terrain in British Columbia. Our British Columbia adventure vacations allow hikers to experience a truly unique hiking holiday by stepping away from formed trails, and onto what we call wilderness travel. It’s backcountry and finding a great route for trekking in the Coast Mountain wilderness is what we do when we take our guests for the best alpine hiking experience in BC.
Immense Beauty Inspires Yoho’s Guest during the Best Guided Alpine Hiking
Unfortunately, as beautiful as BC is, it is easy to be stumped from seeing the big open vistas and grand views by the massive amounts of thick forests and trees encountered getting into the alpine. At Yoho Adventures, we seek out the immense beauty and open views by hiking out of the dark woods that loom over the lower elevations, and we aim for the subalpine to alpine terrain where inspiration and breathtaking views of the mountains await.
After years of hiking and exploring some of the remotest areas, we’ve been continually winded by the breathtaking, dramatic scenery and immense natural beauty here and have made it the staging ground for our Guided Hiking Tours in British Columbia. This dramatic perspective really helps our guests get a full sense of their journey before we begin to explore the wilderness. We can think of no better way to honor nature than to view it in all its creative majesty.
Wildlife Viewing is Unparalleled with the Best Guided Alpine Hiking in BC
Best guided alpine hiking in BC gives us the opportunity to set off day hiking from our cabin base with ease as we travel light with day packs. We hike through stunning valleys nestled between peaks. Countless glacial-fed lakes feed nearby trickling streams that attract wild caribou. Tracks can be seen as we explore this open wildlife playground. We choose our best hiking route for exploring pristine Canadian wilderness.
The land offers an area of open vistas and subalpine environment. It opens up into alpine terrain offering nothing short of majestic mountains and grandiose glaciers. There are also ice fields, pristine streams, alpine flowers and an abundance of wildlife.
Non-Technical Hiking Peaks Highlight Yoho’s Best Guided Alpine Hikes
Soft alpine meadows lead us to the challenge of steep terrain. Consequently, we enjoy a climb to the nearby ridgeline. Then we summit one of the non-technical hiking peaks of the Coast Mountains. The options for routes include an endless variety of alpine hikes. It all boils down to how much time and daylight hours we have on a given day. How the weather cooperates and how the group is feeling also influence our hiking choices. In general, energy levels tend to elevate while taking in the experience of hiking. Spending time around this untouched and untamed part of the West Chilcotin Coast Mountains is nature at its finest.
How the Day Unfolds for Yoho Adventures Hikers on the Best Alpine Hiking Trip Ever
A general day spent hiking in the alpine on one of our unique Canadian Wilderness Adventure Trips begins with a delicious healthy breakfast. Afterward, we fill our camelback from a clear pristine glacial fed stream.
Our day of wilderness travel entails hiking through alpine meadows to interesting vantage points at higher elevations. Hence, we have different viewpoints along the way of heavily glaciated mountains. Most noteworthy, the Monarch Mountain and the impressive Waddington Range are visible. This is home to some of British Columbia’s highest mountains. Lunch at midday is a nice break in the sun near a stream with some delicious fresh produce for the homemade wraps. These will fuel our bodies for more exploring.
Breaking for Lunch is the Time to Refuel for the Best Guided Alpine Hiking
Finally, after lunch, the strong hikers in our group set off to tackle one of the nearby beautiful tall peaks. The summits of these mountain peaks range from 2200-2700 meters. There is an elevation gain of up to 1300-meters along the way.
For the hikers who prefer to take in less challenging views, we head back with another guide. We set a leisurely pace along a different route going back. As a result, we are back to chill the wine and beers for the return of our fellow peak baggers!
Our Canadian Tours are True Wilderness Travel with Best Alpine Hiking off the Trails in Wildlife Playgrounds
One of the special ingredients of our Canadian hiking tours is true wilderness travel. This literally means hiking off the trails and visiting these wildlife playgrounds. No formed trails exist in the backcountry wilderness so this is where we offer most of our British Columbia hiking tours. And that is why we have professional wilderness guides to lead you through the terrain. Usually, its the first time for many of our guests to actually walk off of a path, and not be on a trail or have some formed idea of where they are going to be taking their next step. This is why it’s important to take a guided wilderness adventure trip with professional guides that know the terrain.
Remote Areas of British Columbia’s Backcountry Make for the Best Guided Alpine Hiking
The environment you hike is in the rugged remote areas of British Columbia’s backcountry. The team at Yoho Adventures specializes in remote wilderness areas. Yoho guides are passionate about sharing the breathtaking wilderness of Canada’s majestic mountains. As a result, Yohos put preservation and education first. This allows us to teach our guests good hiking practices that protect the pristine wilderness of Canada and New Zealand. These areas are rare in the world, so we nurture a healthy respect for the wild places — the places that most people would not be able to venture into without the help of expert guides.
To experience some of the best alpine hiking trips in BC, you will take a step off the trail. Here you embark on a Canadian wilderness adventure into the true untouched wilds of British Columbia’s Coast Mountains. It’s what we call backcountry wilderness hiking, where guests get a whole new experience of what the best hiking entails, Yoho Adventures style.
